What is a CMS?
A CMS is a computer software system for organising and facilitating collaborative creation of
documents and other content. A CMS is frequently a web application used for managing web
sites and web content.
Why P-CMS ?
Though there are a number of opensource CMS/Portal systems avaliable readily with a large user-base, most of them are aimed at a corporate/enterprise level of customers. So an average SOHO/SME customers get a bloated and heavy-set solution. Most of the features they will never use. Like all good convinences, P-CMS was developed out of an urge to design a dynamic website with no frills attached, now in beta 1.2, it has far outgrown its initial goal of a website. But we are stringent on one thing., We'll never bloat the P-CMS. Everything is modular and the system is totally sclable.
What Can P-CMS do for me?
Once installed, P-CMS does a great job of managing the content needed to make your web site vivacious. By default, P-CMS only installs and enables the bare minimum of features required for a website. However, P-CMS can be used to incorporate many advanced features like,

The P-CMS is developed and distributed under the GNU- GPL lisence and other contents avaliable from this site such as documentation and mannuals are distributed under various copy left lisences.
P-CMS was developed by the greatest web-programming language to be ever developed, PHP and uses MySQL or postgree SQL for the database. It requires GD support(for graph and png/gif creation).
